Currently, under several pending investigations, Dolton, Illinois Democratic Mayor Tiffany A. Henyard is also being sued by 3 Illinois residents.
Former Cook County human resources manager Sandra Tracy is suing Dolton for firing her after returning to her position following sick leave. After complaining about not receiving pay for six weeks, her work area was removed and she was terminated.
In a statement made by Tracy’s attorney Matt Custardo:
“She’s used to being a bully, intimidating people. She’s not backing down, but neither are we.”

Samysha Williams, former director of building permits and licenses is also suing the self-described “super mayor.”
According to her statement, “The way she treated me and other people was wrong.”
Former administrative assistant Karen Johnson has also decided to file a lawsuit against Ms. Henyard.
All three cases share the same premise; they allege wrongful termination by Tiffany Henyard.

Illinois Mayor Henyard Under a Number of Corruption Investigations
Henyard is currently being investigated by the FBI for potentially weaponizing the local police; many are claiming she has used the police force to raid businesses that have not donated to her campaign.
It has also been purported that the mayor spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on security, for herself, using the police as her security. Many residents feel this is taking away from resources the community is in dire need of.
Dolton trustee Brittnay Norwood characterizes the mayor’s actions as ego driven and self-serving:
“She likes the thought of being surrounded by police officers. I think it makes her feel more important. The police are simply working under her instructions.”

Dolton Village Board Wants Further Investigations Into a Lack of Fund Spending Transparency
According to her critics, her mismanagement of funds is another glaring issue and a major cause for concern. The village board of Dolton has even asked the FBI to come and look into her potential financial improprieties.
It has now been nearly three years since Henyard was sworn in as the mayor of Dolton, also currently serving as Thornton Township supervisor. The Trustees in Dolton have officially approved a resolution requesting a federal investigation of Tiffany Henyard for corruption.
The mayor, at the center of allegations of corruption and the misappropriation of funds, has also been accused of using taxpayer dollars to fund a lavish trip for herself and some of her staff to Las Vegas.
According to Dolton trustee Kiana Belcher, “There’s a lot of mismanagement of funds and we just want some clarity so we can move forward and understand what’s going on with all the spending.”
